We can make a simple choice seem overwhelming by thinking we have to see the whole picture and figure out all the steps BEFORE we choose. That choice, though, is the first step. And when we know it’s the right choice, we can make it AND trust the consequences.
We don’t have to know what the consequences are. And we don’t have to spell out the second, and third, and fourth steps. We can only take one step at a time anyway … and the first one is often the hardest. Once we’ve taken it, the second one appears. And, voila, we’re prepared for it!
No matter how monumental the task, the first step is a choice. And that choice empowers you. But it does more than empower YOU. That choice summons the universe, your God, your source to back you up.
Think of yourself as James Bond (or your favorite hero). You have resources. You have pull, connections, nothing less than magic at your beck and call. Don’t get scared, thinking you have to do it all yourself.
Example, coming to you live from our house. I have long referred to myself as a wild-ass dreamer; but my husband Sam is the chief dreamer here. And he has this idea for a new business that neither of us really has time for. But I have made what feels like a loving choice to support his idea … only as much as I’m able, while maintaining my ongoing commitments and dreams.
Sam, being the fearless guy he is, put together a little group, a founding team if you will, to potentially launch the business. He did this on Facebook—almost effortlessly. It was a choice. Three members—Sam, Jan, and our dear friend Valerie—have run with the idea. And Valerie put our first gig on the table. Well, wow! I knew I was in, before she told me what it was … because it was divinely orchestrated.
I have no idea what consequences, success, lessons will follow. I just know they’re all good. I trust that. Because I trust love … one choice, one step at a time.
