With my move last March, I’m still finding my way in a new community, to a feel-good grocery store, jogging path, hair stylist, etc. During this process, one stylist painted my roots a few shades too dark for the rest of my hair. Smile. The owner of the salon tried to correct it. But when the results fell short, and she didn’t want to tackle my haircut, I found my way to another salon, another correction, and a better way of painting my hair.
One of my favorite questions to ask when things go “wrong” is, “How will this turn out better than it would have, had things gone “right”? But I’m telling you this because I forgot to ask that question when my hair went wrong … maybe because I failed to see hope of an answer. So, here I am, reminded that there is ALWAYS an answer to that question. We don’t have to figure out how it’s possible. It IS possible. My hair is insignificant. I know this. But my responsibility to trust love is significant. And manifesting the best version of myself is a byproduct of that.
We don’t get a free pass just because we move, or get old, or temporarily lose our way. No matter where you find yourself on the path, no matter what seems to have gone “wrong,” trust that your life can blossom. Trust that you don’t have to settle for a home, a partner, or hair that doesn’t fit you. Trust that your dream is still yours to live.
I’m thinking of a young woman I consulted with yesterday. She didn’t foresee having two kids, or the partner she has, or the job she has. But as she stepped back from the picture, she could see her role, and how to play it differently.
YOU are programmed to be the most beautiful flower you can imagine. And no matter what goes “wrong,” you can trust the flower, the story to blossom, when you let it. There is always a way for it to turn out better than it would have without the obstacle. The obstacle is what prepares you to choose to be happy anyway. Living your best life is an ongoing choice.
Don’t get slack, don’t get complacent, don’t lose hope, don’t lose sight of what you know. Your truth, your path, your best life … are still there for you. Always.
Love smiles on you,
