When I don’t have what I want, It’s not because somebody else is withholding it from me. It’s because I am. What I give to myself, I have. I’m not at the mercy of anybody else.
And as much as I love that, my favorite part of this lesson goes beyond that. As I give what I want, I prepare a spot in my heart to receive what I want from somebody else.
I give it to me. I give it to the collective whole and, perhaps, to a specific person. And by giving what I want with no agenda, I attract it. I open myself to receive it from somebody who is uniquely prepared to give it to me.
The toughest lessons are the most rewarding: What’s missing is what I am not giving.
I am so learning to give it! Right now, that readied space in my heart is swelling. I feel like I’m about to burst. And I am, at the age of 65, one thankful little girl.
Let’s get the lesson, and regardless of what it costs, let’s be grateful that we got it.
Love smiles,
