As much as we wrestle with what to do, trying to figure out what comes next, I believe we always know what best serves us. And when we’re ready to take the next step, we see it.
How can we discover it a little sooner? By being still. Hence, the indecision. Being still is one of our greatest challenges.
But we can still our mind, even when we can’t seem to still our body. That’s why answers come to us in the shower. When we’re on automatic pilot, we quiet the logical, left side of our brain, which is the dominant side for most of us.
There are other ways to quiet our mind, though. Think about what comforts you (without making you fat) and helps to ground you. Maybe it’s folding the laundry, or walking, or drawing.
In the stillness, let the next step reveal itself. You’ll know it’s yours. And you’ll know how to do it.
