I sat on the bank of the Silver River, a favorite place to breathe in nature. But as much as I value that, I wanted to immerse myself in the water.
Sam wasn’t there to watch for alligators … or save me. And I didn’t want to just move from the murky bank and tread water, I wanted to climb the tree. I wanted to play and then bask in the peace.
My 62nd birthday reminded me to be careful about falling, breaking bones, and mending. Ah, but it also reminded me not to let fear hold me back. So, I asked myself, “What would you do if you weren’t afraid.” And … I moved out of my comfort zone into the water.
So grateful that I did. If I am to reach peace with myself, I must overcome my fear. And I can’t hope to reach peace with others, until I have reached it with myself.
What would YOU do if you weren’t afraid?
