Happy Thanksgiving!
Going back to sleep can wait. My mind wants to help my heart find words to say thank you.
I’m thankful for the harvest, for the law of sowing and reaping. We are blessed with good seed to sow, a faithful sun and rain, and whatever magic, or science, makes a seed sprout green through dark soil.
And I’m thankful that no matter how much we evolve, a willing soul will always find a purer love to grow into. There is no lack of freedom, no lack of potential, no lack of passion.
And I’m thankful for a partner who is content to go with the flow, while never content to stop dreaming, believing, and acting on faith. I’m grateful for knowing we were meant to be … and for all the sowing, misguided striving, and learning that led me to him.
And I’m thankful for a god, a creator, a heavenly father, without whom there would be no law of the harvest.
On this Thanksgiving Day, I am one grateful little girl. And I’m thankful that I can be this old and still feel this young.
Happy Thanksgiving to you my dear friends. I’m thankful for YOU. I love you.… More
Dating Game Has NO Duds
He said he’d call by noon. It’s 1:00 … and you’re still waiting to get dressed. You want to scream, but he wouldn’t be able to hear you. Besides, you don’t really want him to know you’ve been counting the last 60 minutes.
Instead of screaming — or counting the minutes — when you’re frustrated with a date, take a deep breath, and let him (or her) teach you something.
The teachers who challenged you the most taught you the most, right? The bosses who demanded more than you knew you had provoked growth, right? How else would you have landed the position you have now?
And, yes, the dates (and people in general) who challenge your sanity the most are your best teachers. They are going to help you pull off the relationship of your dreams!
If you’re protesting that she’s an airhead or he’s a jerk, read on. They don’t have to be well learned, refined or even willing to teach you what you need to know. All they have to do is push your hot buttons or trigger your insecurities.
It’s your stuff that stands between you and the relationship you want.
I’m not asking you to settle for the guy who can’t show up on time; I’m asking you to look at why his tardiness unnerves you.… More
Gratitude Brings to Light Abundance and Joy
On that first Thanksgiving Day in 1621, the colonists invited the Indians to join them in giving thanks for the harvest. Being thankful meant having enough to share. It still does.
A grateful man will share — and be glad he’s able — regardless of how much he has. What he shares of his time or his substance will include an attitude of sufficiency, a knowing that there is enough, and that there is more where that came from. He sees abundance because he looks through grateful eyes, not greedy ones. And he multiplies what he has by being openhanded.
Often, we measure a man (or woman) by what he has. But what he’s willing to give is a better indication of what he really has. What he’s clinging to is what has him — his attention, his grip, and his energy. The thing he clings to can’t get away, but neither can he.
A grateful man has what an ungrateful man wants but cannot seem to find — enough. A sense of worth and plenty does not come with the accumulation of things; it comes with the knowledge of who you are apart from the things — the house, the job, the bank account, and even the family and circle of friends.… More
