We’re constantly choosing either love or fear. But it’s not as simple as choosing between an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other.
Is it more loving to earn a promotion OR to be content with our current position? Is it more loving to walk away from a partner OR make a relationship work? One option stifles our love. The other frees our love. One option distorts the truth with excuses, justification, blame, and guilt. The other option shines a light on the truth.
I encourage you to embrace a deep knowing that the truth always serves you. I encourage you to trust love to bring all the pieces together. As you know, I had to choose love over fear–not to stay in my marriage, but to walk away from it. I had to let go of the security that pacifies to embrace the love that satisfies.
Sometimes we’re afraid to let go, because we can’t quite see the truth, can’t quite trust love, or shy away from the uncertainty. We don’t want to wait for something better; we don’t want to wait for love. Truth is, we’re not sure it’ll show up for us. Love is always there, though, waiting for us to show up ready.… More
