Whether it’s our home, our partner, or our favorite food, the familiar comforts us. It can feel like an embrace that interrupts the chaos to make everything okay. But if the warmth is short-lived, it can be a temporary “fix” that keeps us pacified, rather than satisfied.

How do we balance comfort and growth? One: We balance them. We don’t choose one or the other. We choose just the right amount of each. And maybe just the right amount is enough comfort to energize a fresh start. Two: We consciously choose the comfort of true nurturing, rather than a temporary fix.
